Checkout profiles for UK bots, explained

A checkout profile is one shopper's details bundled together: name, email, phone, delivery address, billing address and a card. Bots read them in bulk so a release can be attempted with many profiles at once. The frustrating part is that every bot wants the file laid out differently.

What has to be right

UK phones need the 07 mobile format with eleven digits. Postcodes need the space. Card numbers are fifteen digits for Amex and sixteen for everything else, and the expiry year is two digits for some bots and four for others. Get any of these wrong and the bot either rejects the file or, worse, fails at the payment step during the drop.

Why the formats differ

Each bot grew its own format. Some use flat CSV columns with the bot's own names, some nest shipping and billing under prefixes, and a few have moved to JSON. There's no standard, so moving from one bot to another, or running two, means converting.

The full column list for each bot is in the bot profile format reference.

Generating and converting without retyping

Profiles should be generated, not typed. A generator gives you plausible UK names, addresses and phones in the right shape for the bot you pick. Converting should never require opening the file: upload, pick source and target, download. And nothing should keep a copy of your card details.

Both are free on Minted without an account: the profile generator and the CSV converter, which handles Stellar, Cyber, NSB, Make, Brute, Valor and Hidden.

Questions

Is it safe to upload a file with card numbers?

The converter never stores your file or its card details. The converted file comes straight back to you.

Can I use the same profile name twice?

Bots key profiles by name, so a second profile with the same name overwrites the first on import. The converter adds a number to duplicates so both survive.

Minted handles this for members, behind one login, from any device.
