Evri tracking statuses explained

Evri tracking follows a parcel from the sender to a hub, on to a local depot, and then to the local courier who delivers it, often in their own car. Each scan adds a line to the tracking. This guide explains the common statuses in plain English and what to do at each one.

How Evri tracking works

Evri gives each parcel a long tracking number, sent by the retailer or by Evri in an email or text. Enter it on Evri's site or in the app, along with the delivery postcode if you want the full detail and the options to manage the delivery.

Evri offers next-day and standard services, and retailers often pick the standard one, so a few days from dispatch to doorstep is normal. Deliveries are made across the week, including weekends in many areas.

Evri tracking statuses and what they mean

Evri revises its wording from time to time, so yours may read slightly differently. The stage is what matters.

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
We're expecting itThe sender has told Evri about the parcel. Evri has not received it yet.Wait. If it stays here for several days, ask the retailer when it was handed over.
We've got it, or dropped off at a ParcelShopEvri has the parcel. It was collected from the sender or handed in at a ParcelShop or locker.Nothing needed. From here, options to manage the delivery can appear.
At our hubThe parcel is being sorted at one of Evri's central hubs.Nothing. It may pass through more than one site.
At the local depot, or on its way to the courierIt has reached the depot for your area and is being passed to the courier who covers your street.Expect delivery soon. Divert it now if you would rather collect.
Out for deliveryYour local courier has the parcel for today's round. Evri usually shows an estimated window.Be in if you can, or make sure your safe place instruction is right.
DeliveredIt was handed over or left in a safe place or with a neighbour. The entry normally includes a photo.Check the photo and location if you cannot find it.
We tried to deliver, or sorry we missed youNobody was in and there was nowhere safe to leave it.Evri normally tries again. Set a safe place or neighbour, or divert it to a ParcelShop, so the next attempt works.
Ready to collect at a ParcelShop or lockerThe parcel has been diverted or sent to a collection point and is waiting for you.Collect it with your collection code and ID before the date shown.
DelayedThe parcel has missed a connection or is held somewhere in the network.Give it a day or two. If it does not move, contact the retailer.
Returning to senderIt could not be delivered or was not collected in time and is going back.Contact the retailer about a refund or a resend.

When Evri tracking has not updated

A parcel that sits at the first status has not reached Evri yet. Retailers often create labels in bulk before the parcels leave their warehouse, so a day or two here is common after a big release. The retailer can tell you whether it has actually left.

Once Evri has it, a pause of a day between scans is normal on a standard service, especially over a weekend. If nothing has changed for several working days, contact the retailer. They are Evri's customer, so they are the ones who can open an enquiry or make a claim.

Changing your Evri delivery

Evri lets recipients manage many parcels on the way: name a safe place or a neighbour, or divert the parcel to a ParcelShop or locker to collect later. You need the delivery postcode to prove the parcel is yours, and not every parcel is eligible, because senders can switch the option off.

Marked delivered but nothing has arrived

Open the tracking and look at the delivery photo. It usually shows exactly where the parcel was left, and it is often a safe place you would not have thought to check, such as behind a bin or in a porch. Ask your neighbours too.

If the photo shows somewhere that is not your address, or the parcel is not where the photo says, tell the retailer promptly and send them the tracking number and the photo. Your contract is with the retailer, and they are responsible for getting the order to you.

Keeping up with more than one parcel

One Evri parcel is easy to follow. A dozen, mixed in with other couriers, is not. A single list that shows the latest status of every parcel saves checking each number by hand. Minted's parcel tracker keeps Evri alongside Royal Mail, DPD, UPS and FedEx, and tells you when a status changes.

Questions

What does "we're expecting it" mean on Evri tracking?

The sender has registered the parcel with Evri, but Evri has not received it yet. The status changes once the parcel is collected or dropped off and scanned.

How long does Evri take once it is at the local depot?

Usually a day or two. The parcel is passed to the local courier, who delivers it on their next round.

What happens if I miss an Evri delivery?

Evri normally makes further attempts. After the final attempt the parcel is returned to the sender, so set a safe place or divert it to a ParcelShop if you will be out.

Evri says delivered but my parcel is not here. What should I do?

Check the delivery photo, the safe places around your property and your neighbours. If it is still missing, contact the retailer, who can raise it with Evri.

Can I collect an Evri parcel from a ParcelShop instead?

For eligible parcels, yes. You can divert it through Evri's tracking page or app while it is on the way, and Evri sends a collection code when it is ready.
